Enrichment

According to a study by the MacArthur Foundation, about 70% of physical aging and about 50% of mental aging is determined by lifestyle…the choices we make every day. Rather than being a process of steady decline, aging can be a time of growth if we maintain our physical and mental skills, reduce our risk for disease and injury, and stay productive and engaged with life.

Wisteria Haus can help with everyday life enrichment by offering residents the opportunity to grow and expand their social ties, cultivate hobbies and interests, stay active, and stimulate the mind through purposeful activities and community pursuits

  • Kick back in one of our community living rooms and enjoy a show with your neighbor.

  • Grab a book and relax in our interior courtyard.

  • Take a lap around our easy-to-navigate, single-level, square-shaped building.

  • Join other residents to plant and maintain our outdoor garden or take a stroll around our grounds.

  • Visit with an “adoptive grandchild” when local students stop by to interact with residents through the “adopt-a-grandparent” program.

  • Enjoy visits from family members—and even pets—in our welcoming community.

  • Celebrate holidays with special events and live performances from local groups.

  • Participate in our daily planned activities, including games, arts, crafts, movement, and outings.
